How to practice Trataka, candle flame gazing

Trataka is one of the shatkriyas among Yogic kriyas. Regular practice improves your eye health and also gives immense willpower and concentration.

Light a candle and place it 2-3 feet in front of you. The flame should be at eye level. Sit in the meditation posture, take three deep breaths and gaze at the flame without blinking for as long as you can. Keep your gaze gentle and focused without moving your eyes till they are filled with tears. When your eyes get tired, close them for a few seconds and observe the after-image in your mind’s screen. Repeat the process and practice holding your gaze at the flame for longer durations.
